MODEL 7000 The HSI MPEG-2 Interface Adapter (HSIA) receives an MPEG-2 transport stream from a Motorola High Speed Interface (HSI) port and then provides the transport stream on several different types of output ports. These ports include HSSIO (DHEI), parallel TTL, and several variants of serial type interfaces. All interfaces are packet synchronous with the output data rate equaling the incoming data rate. Several front panel indicators monitor the health of the HSI signal. This product is ideal for testing and debugging of Motorola IRDs and DCT-x000 set-top boxes. The functionality of the HSI output may be verified by means of front panel indicators or more in-depth analysis of the transport stream may be performed by interfacing to standard MPEG analyzers. Motorola uses WooshCom's HSIA in their internal R&D labs and throughout their worldwide production facilities to test their satellite receivers and set-top boxes prior to shipment. CableLabs and third party software developers have also found the HSIA very useful in verifying the contents of the digital transport stream as received at the set-top box itself.
