WooshCom® Corporation is a Denver based hi-technology firm specializing in technology aimed at making MPEG Interfacing more flexible and seamless for the Cable, Satellite and Broadcast industries.

WooshCom has evolved from its beginnings as a contract product developing firm founded in 1986 in San Diego, California.  In their early days they developed many communications and imaging  products for such leading communications companies, Fortune 500 firms, scientific & academic institutions, and national research laboratories as: General Instrument (now Motorola), 3COM, ADC Wireless Systems, Pacific Communications Sciences Inc. (PCSI-Cirrus Logic), ComStream Corporation, Eastman Kodak Company, Harris Corporation, FISK Communications, UCSD Center for Astrophysics & Space Sciences, Lawrence Livermore National Labs, and NASA.

WooshCom's next evolutionary step was to that of a behind-the-scenes test equipment supplier to Motorola Inc. (then General Instrument).   WooshCom's HSI MPEG-2 Interface Adapter (HSIA), in addition to monitoring the health of the HSI signal,  converted the MPEG-2 transport stream on the Motorola proprietary HSI interface to a DHEI interface type.  Motorola uses WooshCom's HSIA in their internal R&D labs and throughout their worldwide production facilities to test their satellite receivers and set-top boxes on their production line.  CableLabs and third party set-top box software developers have also found the HSIA very useful tool in exploring the contents of the digital transport stream as received at the set-top box itself.

WooshCom unveiled their first product in a line of miniature MPEG-2 Interface Adapters, the DHEI to ASI - Model 3010, at SCTE's Cable-Tec Expo 2002 in San Antonio,  and their follow-on product, the ASI to DHEI - MPA-1235, at Cable-Tec Expo 2003 in Philadelphia.  This new product line is unique and revolutionary in its drastic reduction of the cost of converting a DHEI interface to the more standard ASI type and in its patent pending form factor, which permits this conversion without consuming rack space.

WooshCom Corporation is a member of the SCTE and participates in standards setting activities related to MPEG-2.
