Miniature ASI to DHEI Interface Adapter for QAM Modulators

WooshCom’s MPA-1235 ASI to DHEI Interface Adapter enables DHEI interfaces to be immediately converted to ASI at the rear of DHEI equipment without consuming precious rack space. Awkward DHEI interfaces can therefore be eliminated before they infiltrate a site by converting them to the standard and easy to work with DVB-ASI interface type.

WooshCom's MPA-1235 may be used to drive ASI signals into Motorola IRTs or MPSs as well as any other type of MPEG equipment utilizing DHEI such as re-multiplexers. Customers have been applying this new adapter to deploy HD services in cases where satellite receivers supply only an ASI outputs and a Motorola plant must be interfaced to.

WooshCom's adapter enables operators to deploy MPEG re-multiplexers with ASI output ports and still drive legacy DHEI devices while reaping all the benefits of the easy-to-work-with ASI interface. This approach prevents port obsolescence and extends the usefulness of ALL the output ports of a re-mux by making them all the highly compatible and ubiquitous DVB-ASI type. This avoids the inevitable obsolescence and replacement of an expensive DHEI card on the remux as equipment gradually migrates to the more prevalent DVB-ASI interface type. The MPA-1235's ASI Loop-thru connection permits a remux to easily drive multiple DHEI ports on several QAM modulators thereby eliminating the cost of additional outputs on a remux or the need for external splitters.
